Influx By Daniel Suarez

A stimulating and intelligent book unlike any I have ever read before. Michael Crichton meets Dan Brown in a highly technologically advanced world. it has the scientific explanation and brings up similar questions as Crichton does about the use of technology and the effect it has on society and nature, yet FEELS like Dan Brow with a very similar writing styles and character development. Also uses the same name (Pickering) for the head of a department of Intelligence. COINCIDENCE?!
I was even reading it out loud to my boyfriend for a while and he is one who does not like fiction in anyway (unless it is Anne rice) and he was asking for updates on the plot, characters and wanted all the explanations of the technology. The descriptions of the technology was highly researched and seemed to be very plausible and honestly i question whether this is actually happening in the world and we just don't know about it. I plan to do research on this book and find out all about the technology like this out there and if not there, how close we are to achieving it. It raises a lot of social questions about technology and its applications and honestly I might have to naively agree that perhaps society at large is not quite ready for it. 9though it would be beneficial and would mean a lot of changes in the world)
This book is absolutely incredible I was sad to see it end (the epilogue was quite ridiculous in my opinion) and has everything you could ask for in a book. Love, science, action and adventure, conspiracy!! I will most definitely  be lending this book out and be on the prowl for any other works by this author.
