Here's to nothing!

Every year we make New Years Resolutions in the hope of "bettering ourselves" or how we look/ feel about ourselves, and EVERY year we all disappoint ourselves because we couldn't lose 50 pounds in a year (unrealistic to begin with I might add...) or find our one true love or whatever we decide is "necessary" for us to be "The Best We Can Be!" or fix whatever god forsaken situation we have found ourselves this time around.

It's Bullshit. (or so I thought.)

This past new year's my resolution was to read a book a week, or a total of 52 books, in the year of 2014.
I have been told this is stupid, idiotic, easy, unattainable, overly ambitious, and straight up a waste of my time. I assume it just depends on how much you yourself read and  the amount of time you would dedicate yourself to the wonderful world of books.
However, I am pleased to announce that as of July 4, 2014, I am still on track with my goal and have read a grand total of 27 books so far this year. (I know. Over half way done!) And have had the extreme pleasure of reading some truly delightful books, and some not so much so.
I have read such things as Hemmingway, Dan Brown, Clive Barker, Michael Crichton, Stephen King, Terry Goodkind (my all time hero I might add),Sophie Kinselar, and Charlaine Harris. (among a few).
I have witnessed worlds I would have never had the heart to venture through, fallen in love with the sea, gone shopping through London, solved mysteries and escaped dinosaur attacks.
Sometimes it is not easy (especially now that I actually have a DVD player!!) but I always find myself lost in a preferable reality where currently a genius scientist is hiding form a secret government organization who stole his life work for "the sake of human society!!!" Alas, artificial intelligence, torture, ground breaking scientific breakthrough and of course the all too important government conspiracy! I CANT PUT IT DOWN!

Each day I will attempt to mark my progress in this goal and for my own sake really, write down a blurb about the current drama and at the end of the book give a recommendation (or not!)

here's to all the book worms out there!

Read on!
